He experienced overheating of the engine on the way up the Stuart Hwy when running at 120kmph with the airconditioner running full tilt, backed off to 80Kmph, no improvement, only answer to turnoff the A/c and open the windows. Seems that the combination of the heat of the tar and the ambient temp was the killer.

#1 · May 10, 2008 I was wondering if the Workshop Manual for TD42 engine in the sticky section could have its title changed to Workshop Manual for all Aust GU's inc GU4 as it is for all Aust engine models up to & including GU4 in case other engine people don't think it applies to their vehicles & dont bother downloading it

Looking at the GU4 switch bracket, you'll notice that it makes provision for two top-clip type and one side-clip type switch, which means the centre one is pretty much useless, unless you are lucky enough to find a suitable OE switch.
